"Communication can solve, or cause problems. It is the way we represent ourselves, make requests, share how we feel about the world and others. It’s our personal marketing and branding tool. I believe it is one of the most important intangible assets we have as human beings. So, how are you using yours?" - Elonda Beverly

About Me

My name is Totyana Simien; I am a senior majoring in public relations at San Diego State University. I am passionate about promoting equality and supporting social justice movements such as BLM. I want to be a part of creating a world where people of all races, nationalities, genders, and sexualities can be safe and live without fear of persecution or shame.

Currently, I serve on the DEI Committee Board at SDSU where I help bring diversity, inclusion, and equality throughout the school and its academia.

Olive Creative Strategies is where I'm currently interning; it is here where I am learning how to efficiently communicate with the public and conduct daily research tailored to specific clients. I have chosen to pursue public relations as a major because I want to help create positive messages in the world, especially now when negative news is on our front porch everyday. After graduation I hope to work with a company that holds similar values and will take the time to mold me into a practitioner who builds genuine connections and makes substantial contributions to the world.
